Swamp born:
The Recreation of Doechii’s alligator bites never heal
Dropping 'SWAMP BORN' this Juneteenth - a visual tribute to Doechii, her resilience, her rise, and the roots she came from.
If you're a part of the Swamp, you know the album name reflects Doechii's experiences with challenges she faced throughout her career. This piece is more than a celebration; it's a reflection on freedom, survival, and the artistry born from struggle. Inspired by her story and the stories of Black people who've turned hardships into success.
Each look is inspired by the raw emotion, power, and resilience embedded in Doechii's album, Alligator Bites Never Heal. The project reflects how deep wounds, like alligator bites, leave scars that shape who we are - especially as Black creatives navigating life and the industry. Doechii has been so inspiring to the young Black generation.
Juneteenth is about freedom, strength, and survival - the same themes Doechii explores so boldly. She continues to show up for the culture and for the next generation, and this is my tribute to that spirit.
